This year there are two Ultra4 Series to compete in: The Grand Slam of Offroad and the International Endurance Championship.

Explanation of Points Allocation:

There are 1000 points up for grab at each event. Each driver that crosses the start line will get 100 points. There is an additional 100 points that measures progress through the event. There were 20 Check Points at KOH, so each CP was worth 5 points. And lastly, the winner receives a 25 point bonus.

That leaves 775 points to be spread evenly across the finishers based on a weighted ranking of the fastest time (Loren's 6:57:53) compared to the max allowed time (14 hours). The result is each second ended up being worth .0306.

The results, our new King, Loren Healy, has the max score of 1000. Brad Lovell, who finished just 28 seconds behind, has 974. Barry Beadle who was the last finisher has 259 points while Robert Usnick who DNF'd at CP 19 has 195 points.

The racing action was intense for these Last Chance Qualifiers. Tuesday, 17 cars left the line, and 15 received a time. Larry Gipson and Jonathon Terhune both DNF’d and packed up to head home. The fast time of the day was Ritchie Keller with 12minutes 9 seconds. The mid-pack group was around 20 minutes to complete the very difficult 6 mile course.

The racing action continued on Wednesday, but after a complete night of rain. The course was now muddy and the rocks were slippery which made for much more intense racing action. There were six DNF’s on todays course, with most of them being mechanical challenges that drivers had been plagued with for the last few days.

The top 21 will transfer into the main race. There may be additional transfers depending on main race drop outs.
